Sunk cost bias

MoSCoW

MoSCoW excels at stakeholder alignment. The categories are intuitive and require no training. How to Build a Prioritization Practice

Step 1: Start with outcomes, not features

Priorities are not permanent. New data arrives. Markets shift. Competitors launch. Review your rankings weekly during sprint planning (lightweight) and quarterly during planning cycles (deep). Kill items that have been below the line for three consecutive quarters. They are probably never getting built, and keeping them on the list creates false hope.

Common Prioritization Mistakes

Prioritizing solutions instead of problems

Teams often debate whether to build Feature A or Feature B without asking whether Problem A or Problem B is more important. Two features might address the same problem. Treating effort as the primary dimension
