Editorial Policy

Our Mission

IdeaPlan publishes practical resources for product managers and product leaders: guides, frameworks, comparisons, salary data, and interactive tools. Our goal is to help practitioners make better decisions with content that is specific, accurate, and useful. This policy explains how we produce and maintain that content.

How We Create Content

Our content is grounded in established product management practice, primary sources, and practitioner experience. We favor concrete guidance over generalities, cite methods where relevant, and link to related material so readers can go deeper. Salary and market figures are derived from documented benchmarks and are presented as ranges rather than exact numbers.

Use of AI

We use AI tools to assist with research, drafting, and formatting. AI-assisted material is reviewed against our editorial standards for accuracy, clarity, and usefulness before it is published, and a person is responsible for what appears on the site. We do not publish automated content that has not passed this review. Some experimental sections (for example, newly discovered SaaS ideas) are clearly identified and held back from search indexing until a person has vetted them.

Sources and Accuracy

Where we reference data or research, we aim to draw on reputable, verifiable sources. Product management is a fast-moving field, so figures and tool comparisons can go out of date. We update content as practices and data change, and we note when a page was last reviewed.

Review and Fact-Checking

Content is reviewed before publication and revisited periodically. Interactive tools and calculators are tested to confirm the logic behind their outputs. When we find an error, we correct it and update the page.

Corrections

We welcome corrections. If you spot something inaccurate or out of date, tell us through our contact page and we will review and fix confirmed errors promptly.

Editorial Independence

IdeaPlan earns revenue from advertising, affiliate links, and paid products. These commercial relationships do not determine our recommendations or the substance of our content. Advertising is clearly distinguishable from editorial material. For details on advertising and affiliate relationships, see our Disclaimer, and for how data is handled, see our Privacy Policy.

Updates to This Policy

We may revise this Editorial Policy as our processes evolve. The date at the top of this page reflects the most recent update.
